Taste for Impact is our investment in the future of food and hospitality, with efforts to empower the next generation through mentorship, education, and hands-on experience. Rooted in the Steamboat Food & Wine Festival yet reaching far beyond it, the program builds pathways for talent, wellness, and community impact across the industry. Together with mentors, donors, and supporters, we’re creating opportunities that multiply in reach to strengthen individuals, communities, and the future of hospitality.
Shaping The Future

Launched in 2024, the Steamboat Food & Wine Mentorship Program is our investment in the next generation of culinary and wine talent. Designed to uplift and inspire, this hands-on experience connects emerging professionals with world-class chefs, sommeliers, and hospitality leaders. Through immersive learning and meaningful mentorship, we’re cultivating a future where passion meets purpose—and talent thrives.
A BIG THANK YOU to Rabbit Ears Motel for helping support lodging our mentees this year!
Real-World Experience
Mentees step directly into the festival experience—prepping, plating, and pouring during live-service events and workshops. Every moment is designed to give rising talent a seat at the table.
Full Program Support
Taste for Impact offers our Mentorship Program at no cost to mentees. Through the generosity of our donors and community partners, we cover participation expenses such as lodging expenses in high-end mountain towns, food, and supplies (aprons). As we continue to grow, we hope to expand our scholarship to include ground and air travel stipends.
Wellbeing at the Core
In partnership with CHOW, Taste for Impact goes beyond skills training—it’s soul-nourishing. Mentees gain access to wellness coaching, mental health support, and the camaraderie of a close-knit culinary community.
CHOW is transforming the food, beverage, and hospitality industry by prioritizing mental health conversations through group meetings, education, and advocacy. By creating protected spaces for open conversations, offering wellness resources, and fostering a strong community, CHOW helps industry workers manage stress, prevent burnout, and improve overall well-being. Through awareness and systemic change, CHOW promotes healthier workplaces, stronger teams, and a more sustainable hospitality industry.
Scholarship Access
Talent should never be limited by resources. Scholarships waive fees and may include travel or lodging assistance for chefs, vintners, and boutique wineries who bring creativity and passion to the table.
“I never expected to receive such a complete revivification of my soul and mind.”
– Bennah, Culinary Graduate, 2024

At Steamboat Food & Wine, every plate and pour is tied to a greater purpose. Since launch, Taste for Impact has contributed more than $43,500 to nonprofit organizations that strengthen the culinary community—supporting food access, championing local artisans, and advancing environmental stewardship. Great food and wine don’t just delight here—they give back in lasting, meaningful ways, and we hope you’ll join us in doing the same.
Sustainability in Action
Every detail of the festival reflects our responsibility to people and place. We eliminate single-use plastics, highlight locally sourced ingredients, and champion sustainable practices that protect the valley we call home. Beyond environmental stewardship, Taste for Impact ensures access: scholarships and donor support cover housing, lodging, meals, and professional gear so that emerging talent can fully experience the festival without barriers.
Your Partnership Matters
Sponsors and donors make this impact possible. Your support not only fuels sustainability efforts but also provides real opportunities for mentees—covering travel, lodging, and program costs while funding scholarships and nonprofit giving. Together, we extend the reach of Taste for Impact, shaping lives both on and off the plate.
